Saturday drive-By - Tullegasm.

I've just sewn some different shades of tulle to the lining of my current project, and had to take snaps. I love tulle.  I hate cutting the darn stuff, but once I have my pieces cut, I'm enjoying using it - and the effects!

Gorgeous.

Can you tell which doll this is just from the picture?

  1. Pretty... it's not Ells arm... so I'll guess Evie - that's looks like a big hand hiding in the tulle!! I'm creating for Amelia & Delilah Thimble... but not outfits.... lots of glue has been involved... I'm almost finished and then we'll have a grand reveal....

    1. Lolz! I tried to hide the hands, they're a dead give away. Oh my gosh, those doll are so tiny. I admire your abilities to make such lovely things for them! I'll try to remember to keep an eye on my Flickr.

  3. Tess, is each color an individual piece of tulle? How on earth do you sew them together? Wow. I do a lot of sewing by hand, like you -- that must take forever.

    1. I'm afraid I have to keep one or two secrets. But it is less lewing than one might think. Also, I think if I do need to do more tulle sewing, the sewing machine is coming out!

  4. Looks like Evie to me. . . I am really curious how you have put that tulle skirt together with no seams showing? It does look like the colors are somehow over lapping .. I have come back and studied this several times. It is amazing!

    1. I always feel dreadful when people ask, but I do like to keep some things under my hat. The colours do overlap. There are four shades in this skirt, and it looks like more.

  5. Tess, I sincerely doubt I'll ever make a skirt out of tulle, but I had to go searching after your mysterious comments :-) Only place I found anything even remotely close to yours is this fabric at JoAnn's, which is no longer available anyway! http://www.joann.com/rainbow-ombre-tulle/13916853.html

    1. Ooh yummy looking fabric. Mine isn't ombre though, I use different pieces and place them together.
