SSP-055 - Pinafore set for 13" Dianna Effner Little Darlings

Having made four variations of this charming little pattern, I settled on the one with the most ruffles.  My girl looks adorable in it, and having tried it on some of my other dolls, it fits quite well.

*Available in my Etsy shop:

*Etsy will charge EU customers VAT (This does not affect America or other non-EU countries).  I always recommend people to look in my Craftsy store anyway, as the prices fluctuate, due to the international exchange rates.  I always recommend comparing prices.

My Craftsy store:

On CD disc from Ebay: (No VAT payable, and no charge for the CD itself, just  the pattern cost and the postage.)

Or right here on the blog: (PayPal shopping cart)
If you do buy from me here on the blog, and you live in the EU, the rules state that I don't have to charge you VAT as it's a direct sale. Once you have cleared checkout, I will email the pattern files to you directly. Please allow me 24 hours, because of time zones. Usually it will be far quicker than that.

You can find the sales pages at the top of the blog, in tabs for each section. I will email you the pattern PDF files directly, after you've cleared checkout. Click this link to email me, if you have any queries.

EDITED:  I have been working on my files to try and consolidate the tutorial parts and pattern template parts, to create just one document that is neater and easier to download.  this is the first pattern in the new format.  There are still two paper sizes, A4 for Europe, etc, and US Letter size for the States.  You will receive the pattern in the new format.

The dress is maxi length, and I've used buttonhole loops with seed bead buttons to faten it at the back. Just to eliminate some of the bulk.  But you can always use snaps if preferred by following the back closure instructions for the pinafore.

The pinafore has straightforward snaps.

This fits Ellowyne very nicely with no alterations. Just make sure when you come to attaching the back closures, you slip the dress on the doll and mark out your guides accordingly.

Also fits my Tobi body (from Kaye Wiggs) The sleeves will just slip over Tobi's large hands, but I'd recommend widening the sleeves by about 1/4".   You could also lengthen them by about 1/2".

It may fit Kaye Wiggs MSD and Mei Mei too, but the sleeves are very tight over the large hand, so widening them by 1/4" or a smidge more would be best.   The bodice backs might need to be extended by about 1/8" too.  I tried  it on my girls, but it was tight.

And I thought this might work with my Luts Kid Delf, and it did! With both the romantic (adult) bust and the immature bust.

It's tailored especially to fit our Little Darlings though, and looks so very cute on my lovely Claire.

Styling tips are given, and the pattern is in my new format of just one PDF file, instead of two.

You can easily make the dress sleeveless by using the dress bodice pattern piece, and following the instructions for the pinafore bodice.

So that's the last pattern of 2017.  I had planned it would be the first of 2018 but I really am a workaholic and have been sewing like a nutter all through my 'week off', which has to be written in inverted commas because the very idea of me sticking to my designated time off is hilarious....

I shall close by wishing everyone a happy and peaceful New Year.  Every year I hope for humankind to get their crap together, finally.  For beings that can make the deserts flower, produce incredible technology that can actually be used by our minds (it exists, in its infancy) and bring into being stunning works of art and music.  For beings that can come together and create the most amazing performances, like flash mobs bringing classical music to the streets, or sporting events and opening ceremonies, and the fabulous rock concert for Manchester...  we really do suck at being kind to our planet. And each other.

So my only resolution is - to first climb off this soapbox for now - and try to be kinder, more tolerant, and to spread as much love as this old heart can possibly generate.

Happy New Year guys.  xxx

  1. Love the pattern and I love the fact that it fits so many of the dolls - well done! I'm close to finishing the outfits for Patience... I have seven pairs of dungarees, seven cardigans and I'm on hat number 3! They may have to make do with existing leotards though as sadly come Tuesday I'll be back at work (but it does pay for the nice things....)

Happy New Year from me and the tribe - we hope it's a good one for you and everyone else out there... I think spreading love and tolerance is the only way to go! xx

    1. It's an accident, heh. But it is nice that it fits different dollies. Oh my gosh I'm imagining a pile of gorgeous little dungarees and cardis now! Boo work, but it's nice to have dollies and pretty things.

Yes! Love peace and understanding. Happy New Year to you and yours! xxx
